Sylantro Systems Launches Synapps Central Hosted Developer Ecosystem

Campbell, Calif.—October 1, 2007—Sylantro Systems, the leading provider of multiplay application feature servers, launched Synapps Central, a hosted IP telephony applications development ecosystem that aims to drive innovation and adoption of converged services by connecting third-party developers to Sylantro’s growing installed base of global tier-1 carriers.

As part of the announcement, Sylantro is partnering with Aastra Telecom, which will provide an XML-based application development toolkit for its SIP phones so that developers on Synapps Central can build and deploy new, revenue-generating applications enabling carriers to tap into vertical market opportunities leveraging the same core platform investment.

Adoption drivers for VoIP services have moved beyond cost-saving economics to value economics. Enterprises have recognized that their SIP phone is really a powerful Web-enabled computer and they are looking to drive more productivity and efficiency through these devices. Synapps Central, coupled with Aastra’s industry-leading end-point toolkit, presents a great opportunity for Web developers to tap into this momentum.

Synapps Central represents a major development in Sylantro’s third-party applications strategy. By hosting a comprehensive suite of Web services APIs and partner resources on the Internet, Sylantro has made it possible for third-party developers to create new classes of converged, “mash-up” telephony applications with zero up-front investment in equipment and infrastructure.
